  • Foot and Ankle Pain

The foot and ankle are common problem areas for many people due to natural wear and tear, injuries, and pre-existing conditions. Pain in these areas can be debilitating, often caused by excessive walking, standing, or the significant stress placed on them. The ankle, where the foot and leg meet, enables up-and-down movement of the foot. It contains numerous tendons and ligaments, and any injury or condition affecting these structures can lead to pain, muscle weakness, and limited mobility.

Plantar Fascitis
Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain in adults, affecting 1 in 10 people. Also referred to as heel spur syndrome, runner’s heel, chronic plantar heel pain, and calcaneal periostitis, it results from inflammation of the plantar fascia.
Retrocalcaneal Bursitis
Retrocalcaneal bursitis is a condition that causes heel pain due to inflammation of the retrocalcaneal bursa, a fluid-filled sac located between the calcaneus and the Achilles tendon. This inflammation leads to posterior heel and ankle pain, often aggravated by movement.
Achilles Tendonitis
Achilles tendonitis is the inflammation of the Achilles tendon, the largest tendon in the body, caused by overuse and degeneration. It typically affects the heel insertion or along the tendon, resulting in pain and irritation, especially during walking, running, or climbing.
